Archiving = 2

Every durable segment is archived, or being archived.

Diverged = 5

The store holds another history under this timeline (a copied database): archiving stopped.

Failed = 6

Refused at start.

Off = 0

Archiving is not configured.

Released = 4

The backlog limit released the floor: segments are reclaimed un-archived, and a gap follows.

Stalled = 3

The store is failing; the archiver retries while the backlog limit holds the segments.

Starting = 1

Starting: no state from the store yet.
