Enum BackupFailureKind

Namespace
Typhon.Engine
Assembly
Typhon.Engine.dll

What a backup operation's exception means to its caller (Classify(Exception)): the one mapping typhon backup's exit codes and the Workbench's error categories share, so the same failure reads the same in both.

public enum BackupFailureKind

Fields

Defect = 0

Not an outcome of the operation but a defect: let it surface with its stack.

Failed = 1

The operation failed (I/O, cancelled, an aborted capture, another backup running); a retry may succeed.

PlanChanged = 4

A reviewed plan no longer holds (BackupPlanChangedException): nothing was written; plan again.

Refused = 3

Refused before anything was written: a live or existing target, a locked or foreign store, a format mismatch, backup not configured.

StoreDamaged = 2

The store cannot serve the request: a chain is broken, a pack is corrupt, a target LSN or time cannot be reached.
